Design Basis:
In 216 BCE, during the Second Punic War, Hannibal Barca and the Carthaginian Army engaged with Roman forces near the town "Cannae" in southeast Italy. The Carthaginian army of 50,000 strong executed a tactical maneuver known as the "double envelopment". This strategy allowed them to surround and annihilate a much larger Roman force of 86,000 soldiers. The decisive victory at Cannae stands as a testament to Hannibal Barca's strategic brilliance and is celebrated as one of the greatest military victories in history.
